Boys will be boys. Adults, going on 13-years old, our journey soon digressed into those most holy tasks: exploring, smashing, catapulting, toppling.
Poor Steffi.
We walked away from our battle with the elements. But the swamp scored more points against us than we did against it. Scrapes, bruises, soaking feet, frozen pants (the sound of Thushan's walking in pants literally frozen solid: "Crrrhh, crrrhh, crrrhh" as he walked). We knocked over an already dead tree, but it knocked over us too.
